Jiemin Zhu
Jiemin Zhu is a Visiting Professor at the Cancer Nursing Research Unit, Susan Wakil School of Nursing and Midwifery, The University of Sydney. Jiemin has extensive teaching experience for more than 15 years. She has been appointed as a full Professor in the Department of Nursing, School of Medicine, Xiamen University since Aug 2020.
Jiemin holds 1.5 million RMB (equals to 326,700AUD) in funding as a principal investigator for the 9 grants. Two grants came from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the most prestigious grant body in China. She has published 24 articles in world renowned healthcare journals and 8 articles in Chinese nursing journals. In 2020, Jiemin and her research team published one article in Lancet-EClinicalMedicine (IF:17.033) with 811 citations until now. She was awarded the Best Oral Presentation Award at the International Cancer Symposium 2018, Hong Kong, as well as the Faculty Best Publication Higher Degree in Research Award in 2017, the University of Newcastle, Australia. Further, her research has won the 2nd prize in the National Nursing Science and Technology awards, which is the highest nursing award in P.R. China.
Her research focuses on cancer care and psychosocial interventions. This is also the best funded research theme from a wide range of funding bodies such as National Natural Science Foundation of China, Hunter Cancer Research Alliance at Australia, and Dean Foundation from School of Medicine at Xiamen University. The work covers patients’ care focusing on their symptom management, psychological well-beings, and quality of life. The majority of her studies are translational research that involved interdisciplinary collaboration. These studies are designed in partnership with clients and families wherever appropriate. There are also collaborative projects with national and international partners.
