Simmie Chung
Simmie Chung is an academic staff member in the Sydney Pharmacy School (SPS) at the University of Sydney and a registered pharmacist with over twenty years of experience in various settings. Her skills and experience in teaching are based on a wide and diverse career experience spanning: academic teaching, community practice, hospital and pharmaceutical industry. She has made considerable contributions to learning and teaching in the SPS through high quality teaching, academic leadership as Program Director for NAPE ITP and in support of colleagues inside and outside of SPS through formal and informal mentoring.
She has demonstrated a commitment to teaching and curriculum design. Her philosophy of teaching centres around progressing students’ professional developmental trajectories along a continuum from clinical knowledge towards clinical competence. Her teaching interests include improving professional practice, promoting a culture of continuous education, developing skills, and strengthening the pharmacist’s role in the primary care setting.
